ANNUAL REPORT 2019-20

Grace international school is striving to fulfill these philosophical words.by the grace of god , the growth and development of the institution is very much enviable and has been able to accomplish its goal in academic and various other desciplines.

Grace International School run by VOC, Thrissur. Thanking god almighty, GIS has completed 8 successful years. I present before you the 8th Annual Report of our school. At present we have classes KG-VIII with a total strength of 450 students and 41 staff members. Which are well managed by the team of well qualified experienced and dedicated team of teachers and non teaching staffs.

The following are our pursuits in the scholastic and non scholastic areas.

Staff orientation programme

Professional ongoing learning of the staff is a key for quality teaching learning at Grace International School as it is the core of all that we do. Before the new academic year commenced, the entire staff had a day’s session on “Child psychology and class room management” by Mr Khan Karikod, (Psychologist, motivation speaker) and another day on “Speakizy Elite speak” for language improvement class

School reopening ceremony

The new academic year 2019-20 started on 4th June after the summer vacation. LKG section started on 12th June with colorful welcoming programs by the GIS students and management.

Academic session

The academic session strictly follows the CCE Scheme.ie, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, with explicit aim to shift the focus from external examination to internal assessment.

Club activities and environment initiatives

In the beginning of the academic year, students were divided in to Blue, Green, Yellow, Red.based on these groups it turns into several clubs like nature club, maths club , social science club, fine arts club, literary club, health club, wellness club etc. according to the tastes of the children. The purpose of club activities is to develop children’s creative skills.

The Nature club organized Environment day celebration as part of the Inauguration of the club activities. Manager Mr K M Thaha sir planted a tree and inaugurated it. We have a thriving vegetable garden maintained by Nature club. All the students of GIS strived to make clean and green statements within the campus.

Co curricular activities

International yoga day: international yoga day was celebrated by students and teachers at GIS .students demonstrated various asanas and physical education teacher had given valuable messages about importance of Yoga in daily life.

Sharing and caring day: this day was to understand the greatness of mutual aid, cooperation, and humanity. On this day, the children shared their food with each other.

Flowers and fruits day: these were colorful programs for KG children. The children presented various programs on different flowers and fruits.

Independence Day celebration: 72nd Independence Day celebrated at GIS campus. Various art events and flag hoisting were held in memory of the great personalities who sacrificed their lives for our country.

Teacher’s day celebration: our students make Teachers day great by sharing the glory of teaching with other children. That day a group of GIS students dressed like teachers and took a period class for other children.

Art fest -19: Art fest was a platform to nurture and identify children’s artistic talents. Certificates were awarded to all winners and best performance special prize were given.

Children’s day: GIS organized children’s events and a March past on this day

Sports meet: “A healthy mind resides in a health body” GIS has always taken that extra step to make the students believe in that. The day was formally inaugurated by the Manager and the Principal. The students kept in the spirit alive with full participation. Individual Championship trophies were distributed to the students. All enjoyed the programs and prizes were given to the winners.

Artisan valley: the school in order to nurture and develop innovative ideas and creativity in students, an art and craft exhibition was organized as part of it. The exhibition was well conducted under the guidance of GIS teachers.

School and community relation

GIS family is always involved in various social and community activities as much as possible.

  • The children participated in an anti –cancer awareness seminar “Joint Hands to fight against Cancer” led by NCD. An amount was raised by the students and given for the treatment of cancer patients.
  • Every year, GIS students collect money as much as they can and donate to the Old age homes.
  • Children also help those affected by the floods.

Accomplishment

Grace International School was the Southern region competition winner in the INSPIRO 19.our kids showed great performance in all the programs.

Scholarship Examination: it was a proud moment for GIS to get 1st and 5th ranks and many other prizes in kids’ section ERA Scholarship examination. Our students also achieved high marks in LEAP talent search exam with A grade

We express our heartfelt gratitude to all our students, parents, well wishers of our school whose constant support and guidance. We take this opportunity to commit ourselves to do our best to serve quality education. We seek the blessing from the god almighty to help and guide us in the right path.
